Center Spotlight

Snehalata Singh

Sneha Singh, Ph.D.

Each month CHAI likes to recognize and celebrate its Members, Community Partners, and Ambassadors. This month we are featuring Sneha Singh, PhD.

Sneha Singh, PhD is an engaged community professional with many years of experience in healthcare, non-profit, and corporate agencies. She has used her research and analytical skills to plan and execute projects intentionally initiated for social and environmental benefits. During the pandemic, she worked with a joint shelter hotel project to help and support families fleeing violence and collaboratively received 50+ rapid rehousing vouchers for these families in 2021. She joined MDH as covid vaccine team coordinator and now works as one of the Health Equity Strategists with the Health Equity Bureau and Innovation. She is a results-driven, collaborative connector who uses a public-private partnership approach to develop and deepen relationships to improve outcomes. Sneha has worked with national and international organizations, including the Minnesota Diverse Elders Coalition. She is currently a Community Advisory Board member of the Center for Healthy Aging and Innovation at the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota.

As Sneha notes, “I am passionate and want to reduce the neglect and maltreatment cases for vulnerable and older adults. I feel blessed that in my current role as health equity strategist with HRD, I can continue to help create an impact in the lives of elders. I love to represent and serve the widely diverse community and bring the equity lens in all that I do. I enjoy working with like-minded individuals who are also passionate about advancing health equity in the divisions, departments, and states.

Outside work, I like to educate and train immigrant families about rules of money and actions that can lead to financial freedom. My hobbies include but are not limited to traveling, reading books, watching movies, and listening to classical and Bollywood songs.”
